FlammabilityHPL is classified as non-flammable and will only burn in the presence of open flames
Extinguishing mediaHPL is categorised as Class A. Carbon dioxide, water spray, dry chemical foam can be used to extinguish flames. Water suppresses and prevents flames being rekindled
Explosion hazardThe processing of HPL through sawing, sanding and routing produces Class ST-1 dust. Standard safety precautions and adequate ventilation must be provided
Explosion limitThe dust concentration should be below 60 mg/m3
Protection against explosion and fireHPL must be treated as a wood-based material
Fire classifications as per EN 13501Standard and postforming quality D-s2, d0 or better flameretardant quality either B-s2, d0 or rather C-s2, d0 or better (classification depends on material thickness)
