HPL can be manufactured in normal flammability or flame-retardant quality. According to EN 13501, normal flammability quality is classified as Euroclass D-s2, d0 and flame-retardant quality as Euroclass B-s2, d0. HPL only burns when exposed to open flames. In the event of fire, HPL produces only a small amount of smoke and does not drip. It does not splinter when exposed to extinguishing water. National and local fire safety requirements must be observed.
